Support for Crime Victims and Witnesses 

Advocates at the Nevada County Victim/Witness Assistance Center can help if you are a victim of crime. Our program is part of a statewide effort to provide crime victims with information and emotional support in the aftermath of crime, guidance through the criminal justice process, assistance in applying for Victim Compensation and awareness of victims' rights.  All services are confidential and free of charge.   • Talk to someone about the effect of the crime
  • For an explanation of the court process
  • To know the status of your case
  • You need a referral to a social service agency
  • For information about protective/restraining orders
  • To help preparing a Victim Impact Statement
  • For questions about restitution for your losses
  • For assistance in filing a victim of crime claim
